Why this cause?
We came to the conclusion that this year's Belgrade Twestival should be based on help to provide all resources for a better life of dogs in Belgrade, therefore a better environment for the citizens of this city.
Although the worst situation is for stray dogs, no one is helping them.
The dogs are hungry, homeless, sick and without proper care. They also need a new home.
For years now, this organization helps animals, and by now they did a great job, but they do not have enough funds to make it a big deal. That is why we want to help this charity.
How will the funds be used by your local charity?
- To provide medical assistance and medicines to threat the sick dogs;
- To provide enough rabies vaccine;
- To provide food and money for maintaining the existing location for dogs until they get a new family and home;
- and providing for other specific needs.

Dear friends,
24th og March 2011. has marked our 1st year in organizing / hosting Twestival Belgrade. From the very first steps like registration of our city on Twestival global map, or creating the Twestival Belgrade Blog and choosing local charity that needs to be donated more, trough whole process of planning and realization, until "the-big-day" it has been an incredible journey for all of us.
Since we noticed that in 2010. Belgrade City Council has put a lot of effort to register and to help dog-asylums by providing them with enough food and all necessary veterinary assistance (inc. health issues, vaccination, sterilization and chipping).
Therefore, we agreed that this year's project should be based on providing asylums with additional quantities of food, as a most important suplies.
Special thanks to our friends that have supported our project and opened their hearts to this charity and generously helped us in achieving our goal, which is to help the stray dogs at the asylums until they get to a new home and family who will properly take care of them.
We have received many emails of support in the past few days. Your words of thanks, support and encouragement have been an endless source of energy and inspiration for the next year's project.
Once again, thank you all.
Yours,
Twestival Belgrade Team :)

We have came to a conclusion that currently the worst situations is for stray dogs, who are homeless and without proper care. This year, we will be helping an organization that has been, for years, fighting for a better life for dogs in Belgrade.
Twestival Local is all about raising money for local charities. We have a honor to represent our city on Twestival map and do something good so the world gets better place to be in.
In less than 12 days to go until the big day, and all the planning for Twestival Belgrade is now getting verry exciting for us. Just a few details are left to be done.
Twestival Belgrade is organised entirely by volunteers and there's plenty of opportunity to help out, so if you're interested in joining the team, you can register here.
In the meantime, follow us on Twitter to keep up to date with the progres.
